After years of development, Long Son Petrochemicals or LSP, built at a cost of more than US$5 billion — one of the largest foreign direct investment projects in Vietnam — has finally got off the ground, bringing Vietnam towards a promising future.
Located on 464 hectares of land in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, approximately 100 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City, LSP utilizes world-class petrochemical production technologies for safe and environmentally friendly operations. The Vietnam’s first integrated petrochemical complex, with an annual capacity to produce 1.35 million tonnes of olefins, 1.4 million tonnes of polyolefins, and 1 million tonnes of other by-products, will help the country reduce its reliance on imports of the plastic resins that are essential for a wide range of downstream industries, including packaging, electrical appliances, medical devices, agriculture, construction, automotive, etc.
