SCGC’s First Feedstock Shipment Arrives Safely in Thailand, Expresses Appreciation to the Thai Government and All Relevant Parties

Rayong – 7 May 2026 – SCG Chemicals or SCGC announced that its first naphtha shipment vessel from the Strait of Hormuz has safely arrived in Thailand. Dr. Suracha Udomsak, Chief Operations and Innovation Officer, together with Mr. Chatri Eamsobhana, Chief Commercial Officer, and SCGC executives, welcomed the vessel upon its arrival. The company also expressed its appreciation to the Thai government and all related parties for their strong support and close collaboration, which contributed to the successful transportation of this important feedstock shipment. The vessel carried 55,000 tons of naphtha, sufficient to support the production of approximately 20,000 tons of plastic resins.

As for the second feedstock shipment carrying 27,000 tons of naphtha, the vessel has not yet departed the Strait of Hormuz, while the shipping operator continues to closely monitor the situation. To help ease the tight supply of plastic resins in Thailand and mitigate impacts on customers and businesses across the supply chain amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, SCGC continues to proactively adjust its strategies in line with the evolving situation. The company is accelerating raw material procurement from alternative sources while optimizing feedstock management and production efficiency, with priority given to supporting domestic demand.
